Rape cases on rise in Nepal

The cases of rape and rape attempts are on rise in Nepal. Seven -year-old rape victim, Puja Sah of Kalaiya, Bara, succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at Kanti Children's Hospital on Sunday while the world was observing 105th International Women's Day. She was admitted to the hospital on February 22 following a brutal rape. The minor's father, Badri Narayan Sah said her body would be taken to their home for cremation on Monday. Three cases of rape, two of them on minors were reported in Kathmandu in past three days. According to the Police, after Kathmandu, most of the rape cases were reported in Eastern Development Region which witnessed 9 cases and least in Far Western Development Region with 1 case reported. Although the Police record states 30 rape cases,
